Laudholm Farm Pt. II

We’re headed back to Laudholm Farm, and hopefully won’t get rained out like last year…. Forecast isn’t looking promising but stay tuned for updates.

This should be a fun trip with a pretty large diversity of species to see as we will go through dense forests, to open grassland, to marshlands (and possibly to beaches!). Last year there were verified American Avocets seen in the area, so there is always the possibility of rarities!

We will meet in the parking lot of the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm at 8 am and bird until 12 pm. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 and recent upticks with regard to the Delta variant, we will not be able to carpool. All attendees must bring a mask or face covering. MYBC will maintain social distancing guidelines. Wearing a mask will be required in any situations were we cannot maintain social distancing of 6ft. For example meeting another group on the trail or in the event we spot a bird that requires being closer than 6ft. In cases like, this masks will be required. MYBC will have extra masks on hand if you do not have one.

LOGISTICS:  Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes.  .  Bring the following: filled water bottle or two, snacks, a bagged lunch, hat, socks, waterproof hiking boots, etc., binoculars, camera (optional), scope (if you have/want one), notebook & field guide (optional), and a backpack in which you'll keep all your stuff.  If you do not have binoculars, MYBC will provide you with a pair. Also not mosquitos and ticks are very prevalent at this location. Bug spray and proper tick prevention procedures are critical.

MEET UP and PICK UP: We will meet at the Well Reserve at Laudholm at 8 am. 342 Laudholm Farm Rd. Wells ME, 04090

PICK UP will be at the same location at 12 pm.
