instead of our scheduled walk.

For those wish to attend the full event it runs for 10AM-4PM and features guest speakers, activities, and opportunities to meet the wildlife ambassadors on site. Here's the speaker schedule:
10:30-11:15 Danielle D’Auria - Black Terns and marsh rarities
12:00-12:45 Melissa McCue-McGrath - Lanternfly detection
1:30-2:15 Jeff Parmelee - Maine Big Night
2:30-3:00 Shawn Jalbert - Native Haunts

We are off to Florida Lake Park which--under the right conditions--can yield a large amount of warblers and other migrating birds. Florida Lake is 167 acre preserve with a small lake and surrounding uplands. Several trails wind through differing habitats, including emergent marsh, shrub swamp, forested wetland, and wooded upland.
We will bird around the lake and trails looking for early warblers, swallows, and migrating ducks.
LOGISTICS: Please bring Binoculars (MYBC has extras if you need them), Water, Snacks, Bag Lunch, Weather-Appropriate Clothes (please note that this trip will include good amount of walking, some through areas which can be very wet and/or muddy). Please also note that while still early in the season ticks have been detected and this area is well known for them. Please be mindful of this and perform a tick check after this outing.
