Wildlife Tracking and The Center For Wildlife with Dan Gardoqui

  • The Center for Wildlife 375 Mountain Road Cape Neddick, ME, 03902 United States (map)

On Saturday January 10, 2026 from 9am-noon we are very excited to welcome back guest trip leader Dan Gardoqui. Dan has previously led several tracking adventures for MYBC, and in his current role as Education & Outreach Director at The Center for Wildlife, he will also introduce us to some of the Center’s animal ambassadors.

We will begin by meeting at The Center for Wildlife’s main parking lot, then carpool to a nearby location (5–10 minutes away) for animal tracking and birding. Located at the base of Mt. Agamenticus within the Agamenticus Conservation Region, this area is rich in wildlife and offers excellent opportunities to find tracks, scat, and other signs of animals living in the forest.

After the tracking portion of the trip, we will return to The Center for Wildlife to meet some of the resident animal ambassadors. These non-releasable raptors, reptiles, and birds of prey help educate the public about their species and conservation. This is a great opportunity to see these incredible animals up close, learn about their lives and adaptations, and ask questions.

In case of snow or inclement weather, we will post any changes or announcements to GroupMe. If we have to cancel this trip due to snow, our alternative date will be Sunday January 11th at the same time.
